A family story
The year was 1989 when Jacques Magnan founded Cuisine Malimousse, in the Quebec City region. Both wanting to spend more time with his loved ones and passionate about gastronomic products, he decided to sell his two fish shops to bring to the mass market the homemade products his clients couldn’t get enough of. And voilà, Cuisine Malimousse was born!
Ten years later, his son Hugo joined the family business. Together they conquered new markets, as well as started the mechanization of produc- tion, culminating in 2003 with the construction of a state-of-the-art factory. Malimousse has then focused its operations on the production of emulsions, sauces and salad dressings.
In 2009, Hugo took over the head of the com- pany, with a strong intention to keep alive his father’s values and desire to produce top-quality products. This successful strategy is clearly a winning recipe, as the company won in 2015 a Grand Prix for Innovation at Salon international de l’Alimentation!
